At the age of seventeen, Tseng demonstrated a remarkable passion and talent for conducting. Under the careful mentorship of Professor Ku, he became Taiwan’s first student to major in conducting at the university. then continued his rigorous and effective conducting studies with Professor Hsu Ching-Hsin at National Taiwan Normal University. That same year, he was selected as the youngest participant in the “Young Conductors Training Program” organized by the Taiwan Chinese Orchestra, and he won the first prize in the final “Elite Conductor” competition. In 2017, he won second place in the International Conducting Competition for Chinese Music in Hong Kong, along with four additional awards: Best Interpretation of a Taiwanese Work, Best Interpretation of a Hong Kong Work, Most Popular Conductor among Orchestra Members, and more. The Hong Kong Chinese Orchestra’s Artistic Director, Maestro Yan, praised him as “a young conductor with great musicality and control.” In addition to making his mark in international competitions, Tseng has performed on international stages, collaborating with numerous orchestras in Taiwan, Hong Kong, the United States, Malaysia, and beyond.

 

Currently, Tseng serves as the Resident Conductor of the OneSing Orchestra, and Founder of PHONOLITE. From 2017 to 2020, he was the Assistant Conductor of the Taiwan Chinese Orchestra (NCO), and from 2020 to 2022, he served as the Music Director of the Taiwan Philharmonic Chinese Orchestra. He has collaborated multiple times with prestigious orchestras such as the Taiwan Chinese Orchestra, Taipei Chinese Orchestra, Kaohsiung Chinese Orchestra, Kaohsiung symphony Orchestra , Hsinchu Youth Chinese Orchestra, Little Giant Chinese Chamber Orchestra, Taiwan Yangqin Ensemble, and Taiwan Soloists Symphony Orchestra. He is also a trainee in the National Taiwan Symphony Orchestra’s International Music Talent Development Program (2021/2022).
